Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan

The Findlay Shade Tree Commission was appointed in 1978 as a group of community volunteers and City of Findlay representatives in order to address the need to care for Findlay's aging urban forest.

Today the Findlay Shade Tree Commission's Mission is to provide technical guidance for the establishment and maintenance of city trees and to educate all city residents on the importance of proper tree care.

The commission's responsibilities are to provide leadership in the selection and establishment of trees planted in areas of public street rights-of-way. It is also a liaison to city residents in the proper care, maintenance, and removal of trees within city rights-of-way through a variety of avenues.
