Anyone who has visited Hancock County can name many reasons why the attractions, shops, restaurants, and businesses in the county are some of the best in Ohio, so vote and prove it! Voting for Ohio Magazine’s “Best of Ohio” is open and there are many categories that you can fill with your Findlay and Hancock County favorites! There are 50 categories to choose from and you must fill out at least half for your ballot to be considered, when voting make sure to include the nominee’s name, followed by the city it is located in. While choosing just one spot to represent our area may be tough, there are definitely plenty of Hancock County options for you to consider.
Recreation is definitely not lacking in Findlay and Hancock County so filling out some of these categories should be easy! The Lions Way Bike and Pedestrian Pathway is a wonderful trail that winds in and out of the picturesque village of Bluffton. Have you visited our local state park? The Van Buren State Park is a great option for those looking to fish, hike, bike, or ride on horseback and is a favorite of many – including our Visit Findlay Blogger Brandon! The best college town is an obvious choice – Findlay, of course! Also an obvious choice is any of the our great festivals that take place throughout the year for the fairs, festivals, and parades categories, the hardest decision is picking just one great option for each! Same goes for the Food and Drink categories, can you narrow it down to just your one favorite burger joint or coffee shop in Hancock County? We have a few suggestions for the best farmers’ market and the outdoor dining/patio categories! Amy May’s Rockin’ Taco was voted Best Food Truck in the Best of Ohio voting last year, can she pull off back-t0-back wins?
Also winners from Findlay and Hancock County last year were Jeffrey’s Antique Gallery for best antique shopping, which would be a great choice again this year, and Dietsch Brothers Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream for Best Ohio Made Candy. Dietsch’s also won two years ago for best Ice Cream, we think this year should be a double year – best Ohio Made Candy and best Ice Cream! The Arts and Culture scene is another section of voting where several Findlay and Hancock locations should be considered for different categories. Any of our museums would be great choices, especially the Mazza Museum for best Art Museum, Children’s Museum of Findlay for best Children’s Museum, and the Hancock Historical Museum for best History Museum! Plus, what better choice for best Art Walk than ArtWalk?
