Love is in the air and Valentine’s Day is around the corner, so it is time to make your plans for the holiday!
Make Reservations for Date Night
Findlay and Hancock County are definitely not lacking in choices for really great restaurants for date night, and many are having specials in honor of the holiday so it is a gift for everyone! The Gathering is hosting a week-long Valentine’s Day special for couples to share an appetizer and dessert and a choice from two delicious sounding entrees. Fireside Brick Oven Pizza Pub and Grill is touting a bottle of wine, shared appetizer, two entrees and two desserts as their holiday special. Fins Seafood and Grille is celebrating both Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day this week with great specials. Need a sitter? Awakening Minds Art has you covered with their Drop and Date Program on Friday evening! Drop your potty trained child off from 6 – 8 p.m. and while you enjoy a dinner in Downtown Findlay they will enjoy arts and crafts!
Attend a Special Event
Make Valentine’s Day extra special this year by going out and enjoying one of the great events taking place! On Valentine’s Day take part in Gillig Winery’s annual Wine and Food pairing with five of their wines paired with five delectable appetizers and dessert. Looking for something this weekend? Get your tickets by Wednesday for Lodestar: Guiding Angels for the Blind’s Dine in the Dark event at the University of Findlay. Tickets are $35 and includes a three course meal – entirely in the dark! Also this weekend is the Winter Blues Festival at Alexandria’s. Enjoy the tunes of the Josh Garrett Band and Buzzard Blues Project beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door or reserve a table for a group night out by calling 419-424-5750, extension 2!
Don’t Forget the Kids!
Show your kids some love this Valentine’s Day too! Teens in grades 6 – 12 can take part in a Findlay-Hancock County Public Library cooking class on Wednesday from 6 – 7:30 p.m. encouraging confidence in the kitchen with easy-to-duplicate recipes. Wednesday’s class is, fittingly, chocolate. Reserve your child’s spot by registering at the Children’s Desk or calling 419-422-1712 ext. 237. There is plenty of indoor fun to be had as well. From visiting one of Hancock County’s museums, going indoor golfing at The Links, roller blading, ice skating, bowling and more!
