City Bidding Chemicals, Materials, and Services

Each year, the City of Findlay formally bids a number of chemicals, materials, and services it uses.  The contracts for these items run for a calendar year, with option(s) to renew the contracts in one-year increments.  Items that are normally bid each year include several chemicals used by the Water Treatment Plant and Water Pollution Control Center, uniforms, services, and supplies.

Pursuant to authority granted by Findlay City Council under Ordinance No. 2018-047, adopted June 19, 2018, bids will be received via the Bid Express website at until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, and then publicly opened in the Third Floor Conference Room, Municipal Building for the furnishing of the following chemicals, materials, and services for the period of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019:

#42 – Office Supplies

#45 – Janitorial Supplies

#61 – Temporary Staffing Services

#62 – Water Treatment Plant Lime Hauling

#63 – C909 Plastic Pipe

#402 – Sodium Hypochlorite (WTP)

#1601 – Ready Mix Concrete

#1602 – CDF

#1603 – Class C Concrete

Bids for chemicals, materials, and services must be submitted via Bid Express at using the electronic forms furnished by the City. Paper and fax copies will not be accepted for bid submittal. Free registration with Bid Express will allow a bidder to review and print all minimum specifications and proposal forms. A digital ID or electronic signature along with a per bid fee or monthly subscription will be required for bidders to submit an electronic bid. Proposal forms and minimum specifications may also be viewed at the City of Findlay Engineering Department, 318 Dorney Plaza, Room 304, Findlay, Ohio 45840 (419-424-7121). 

Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond in the form of a certified check on a solvent bank, money order, irrevocable letter of credit, cashier’s check or surety bond payable to the City of Findlay, Ohio, in an amount of $1,000.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids; and reserves the right to accept or to reject any and all optional bids offered; and reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in the bids received.  The City reserves the right to enter contracts with more than one vendor. 

The contract shall be awarded for the period of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.  The City shall have the option to extend a contract for each of 2 succeeding years, provided that the City exercises any such option 90 days prior to expiration of the contract.
