Vehicle Pursuit with Fatality

Location of Incident: 2800 block of South Main Street

Brief Description: 

The Findlay Police Department was contacted by a law enforcement agency in Crawford County to be on the lookout for a vehicle that had been involved in a pursuit in that county. A Findlay Police Officer located the vehicle in the 2800 block of S. Main St. This officer activated his emergency lights to stop the vehicle and the vehicle fled. The pursuit traveled through the southwest portion of the city and then on to Main St. The vehicle left the city and the pursuit continued to Mortimer. After crossing the railroad tracks in Mortimer, the vehicle went left of center and crashed into a house.

Fire department and ambulance personnel were contacted and the driver was found to be deceased. The driver’s identity is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
