In November 2012, the Findlay Police Department was awarded full accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). CALEA is a credentialing authority (accreditation), based in the United States, whose primary mission is to accredit public safety agencies, namely law enforcement agencies, training academies, communications centers, and campus public safety agencies.
We are currently working towards full accreditation for the second time. Through the CALEA process the department continually performs self evaluation, always looking to better performance, being more creative and constantly improving the services we provide to the community.
