Ward 4 – Tom Klein

Tom Klein, City Councleman Fourth WardTom Klein is a Findlay native and was first elected to serve as fourth ward councilman in 2013. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1974 and attended the University of Kentucky.

In 1978, he returned to Findlay and joined his father in operating their family business Hancock Gas Service, Inc. While at Hancock Gas, Tom served as President of the Ohio Propane Gas Association and represented the State of Ohio on the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) Board of Directors for many years, as well as the NPGA Executive Committee.

Tom was one of the founders and owners of Transpro Carriers, Inc. Transpro was a common carrier of propane and anhydrous ammonia that operated a fleet of transports throughout the midwest and mid-south. After selling both companies Tom spent several years in business development, consulting for Inergy Propane.

In 2005, he bought Chatelain Plastics, Inc. In addition to serving on city council, Tom also serves on the Findlay YMCA Board of Directors.

Tom and his wife Betsy (Lee) have three children.
