Downtown Revitalization Update – August 31

Sidewalks Beginning to be Poured

The contractor is beginning to pour sidewalks on the east side of South Main Street at the new bump-outs. The contractor will first pour sidewalks at the Lima, Hardin and Crawford Street bump-outs and the mid-block crossing between Hardin and Sandusky Streets. Once the cement has properly cured and those intersections can be safely traveled by pedestrians, they will be opened for access across South Main Street. The sidewalks at the the Lincoln and Sandusky Street bump-outs will then be poured.

Curb and Sidewalk Work to Start on the West Side of Main Street

Curb and sidewalk removal on the west side of Main Street will start at the end of next week.  That work will start at Center Street and progress south to Lima St.  Main Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction in some areas. Parking on the west side of Main Street will be temporarily closed as work progresses. Signage will be in place to direct downtown visitors to open parking areas on the west side of Main Street.

Labor Day Weekend

The contractor has committed to securing and barricading work-zones before the Labor Day weekend to ensure safety for all downtown visitors.
