Source: Hancock County Convention & Visitors Bureau Blog ~ 3 Free Things to Do in Findlay this Summer
Summer is a great time to find free things to do in Findlay.
From getting outside to enjoy our parks to taking a walk to see the beauty of our local homes, you really can’t go wrong.
But as we checked our events calendar, we noticed three great ways to have free fun with your friends and family that all of you will absolutely love.
Catch a Concert
On Tuesdays, you can attend Courtyard Concerts in Downtown Findlay. It’s a laid back way to eat lunch outside with your friends and coworkers.
Local musicians bring some of their best music, and you can purchase a great lunch from one of our local restaurants. But if you need to brown bag it, that works as well!
With the sun shining, this is the best way to get a dose of Vitamin D while breaking up your work day. Doesn’t this sound better than having lunch at your desk yet again?
Learn Something New
We all have a million things we’d love to learn. But what if we could learn one of those things for free?
The Flag City Daylily Tour will take you through local gardens where you can talk with gardeners about how they grew such beautiful flowers. So get a few tips to take home to your own garden while you admiring all of the beauty around you.
If the stars are more interesting to you, the Millstream Astronomy Club is hosting an Astronomy Day. You can look through their telescopes or bring one of your own. Club members will be happy to help you set up and show you how to use your telescope, so you’ll have the best view of the stars. And that means you’ll know how to take a look at them all summer long.
Make a Stop at Festivals
We have so many great festivals coming up this summer that include free fun.
One you have to check out is the Flag City BalloonFest. With balloons in the sky, a glow and fireworks, there is plenty of fun to keep your whole family entertained for free. But if you want to spend a little bit of money, you can check out the kids area, some of the food vendors and more. Regardless of how you do it, there is just something magical about seeing the balloons come to town every year, and you just can’t miss it.
