Backflow Prevention Program

Post Date:01/24/2019 4:30 PM
City of Findlay water customers who are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of backflow prevention devices on their property will experience changes in the way in which inspections are reported. Backflow Inspections and Backflow Tester Registrations that were formerly reported to the Hancock County Health Department will now be administered by the City of Findlay Water Department.

Customers who have backflow prevention devices are expected to receive a detailed letter and preprinted inspection forms by mid-March 2019 to allow time for due process of getting the program established through City Council. Blank Test and Maintenance Report forms of the Backflow Prevention Device Program can be found on the City’s website at https://www.findlayohio.com/government/city-departments/water/water-distribution/backflow-prevention-program.

We ask that you please do not send payment to Hancock County for the processing of the inspection forms. Your processing fees will be assessed on your water bill once the preprinted forms have been distributed to you.

Additionally, Plumbing Professionals and Backflow Testers who formerly registered with the Hancock County Health Department will receive a separate detailed letter with a registration form by mid-March as well.

Most questions concerning the Backflow Prevention Program can be answered by reviewing the City's website:  https://www.findlayohio.com/government/city-departments/water/water-distribution/backflow-prevention-program  or by contacting Water Billing Supervisor, Tammy Kirkpatrick, at 419-424-7190 or Water Distribution Supervisor, Jeff Betts, at 419-424-7192 or via the City of Findlay website.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work through this transition period.
