Findlay Police Department joins Light Ohio Blue

Post Date:05/08/2019
Light Ohio BlueThe Findlay Police Department has joined the Light Ohio Blue campaign to show and generate support for law enforcement personnel who protect our communities throughout our great state.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation, which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. The Light Ohio Blue campaign coincides with activities associated to Police Week. This year’s dates are Wednesday, May 8, 2019, to Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Light Ohio Blue first began as Light Central Ohio Blue in 2016. After three successful years in central Ohio, this year’s goal is to spread this campaign statewide. The purpose of the Light Ohio Blue is to honor and pay respects to the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty as well as those currently serving as sworn and civilian staff.

Businesses and residents in the City of Findlay are encouraged to show their support for all law enforcement agencies.
