New Internship Program at City of Findlay
In partnership with Findlay City Schools and Millstream Career Center, we have created an internship program for high school students. On June 3, 2019 the first group of students in the internship class begins summer work with the Water Department and Engineering Department. Six students have completed all of the requirements of classroom training will begin to put their studies into practical application. Students will get the opportunity to work in the each of the branches of the water department. Activities will include things such as: sampling, painting fire hydrants, meter changing, lab work, operations, repairs, painting, as well as learning what all the different roles and responsibilities are within the department. One student will be working with the Engineering department to learn the aspects of project management, design, and data collection. The City is excited for the opportunity to share and grow the experiences of these young men and women. Our plan is to continue to grow the program to include other departments and give more young people the opportunity to learn more about the City of Findlay and what it means to be a public servant.
