Mosquito Spraying to Begin on 7/28/2019

Post Date:07/26/2019 3:47 PM
The City of Findlay has contracted with Hancock Public Health to spray for mosquitoes throughout the City. Spraying will begin in the evening on Sunday, July 28, 2019, weather permitting, in the West Park area and will continue for the next several weeks until the whole City is covered.

Mosquitoes tend to be a back yard problem. Hancock Public Health recommends residents check their properties for standing water. The best action to prevent mosquito bites is to STOP mosquitoes from breeding around your home. Elimination of standing water on your property will aid in preventing any mosquito breeding pools. This may include but is not limited to flower pots, old tires, clogged gutters, trashcans, and birdbaths. Standing water that can not be eliminated can be treated with mosquito dunks to kill larvae. Hancock County residents can pick up FREE mosquito dunks from Hancock Public Health on Mondays from 9:00am – 4:30pm and Tuesdays to Fridays from 8:00am – 4:30pm.
