Date & Time of Incident: February 11, 2017 @ 01:15 – 01:42 hrs.

Location of Incident: multiple City of Findlay streets and Hancock County roads

Brief Description: 

Findlay Police Department stopped a vehicle for traffic violation on Elm Street at Lima Avenue. The male driver was identified, but the female passenger lied about her identity to officers. The female passenger was arrested for Falsification and a warrant from the Findlay Municipal Court.

The driver fled the traffic stop after this arrest. The pursuit was started by the Findlay Police Department at 01:15 hrs. The pursuit traveled on multiple streets in the City of Findlay and then on multiple roads in Hancock County, OH. Assisting in the pursuit was the Ohio State Highway Patrol – Findlay Post and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The pursuit traveled a total distance of twenty-seven miles in twenty-seven minutes. The speeds in the City of Findlay were at the posted speed limits until the south end of the city limits. The speeds in the county were from 70-85 MPH. The pursuit was terminated by the agencies around Rawson, OH at 01:42 hrs. The male suspect was not apprehended and he currently has a suspended OH driver’s license.

The case will be referred to the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office on the male suspect for a charge of Compliance with lawful order of police – fleeing & eluding, a felony offense along with misdemeanor traffic offenses to the Findlay Municipal Court.

The female passenger was incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center for the above listed criminal offense and warrant.
