Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission is governed by the Ohio Revised Code and the Commission’s adopted rules and regulations. In addition to serving the City of Findlay, the Commission is responsible for all civil service positions within Findlay City Schools. The Commission is comprised of three members and a clerk/secretary. Members are appointed by the Mayor for a term of six years with term expiration dates staggered.

 

The Civil Service Commission “Entry Level” tested positions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assistant Operator – Water Treatment and Water Pollution Control
  • Clerical – City of Findlay and Findlay City Schools
  • Construction Inspector
  • Custodial – City of Findlay and Findlay City Schools
  • Engineering Technician
  • Firefighter (at least 18 and not more than 41 years of age)
  • Meter Reader – Water Department
  • Police Dispatcher
  • Police Officer (at least 21 and not more than 35 years of age)
  • Police Parking Enforcement Officer
  • Zoning / Building Inspector
