The Cube Ice Arena was founded in 1974 and is an indoor ice arena which is open seasonally from September to late March and May to mid-July. When the ice is melted from mid-July through August, The Cube offers large, indoor space suitable to host everything from concerts and flea markets to wedding receptions and meetings.

The Cube offers a competition quality ice surface for figure skating, hockey, adaptive, and public skating. The Cube is home ice to:

Please be mindful when planning your visit, The Cube is a CASH ONLY facility with an ATM located in the lobby for convenience. 

All City of Findlay Recreation registration or rental reservations can be paid with cash or a check made to City of Findlay in the recreation office during business hours (Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm).


Snow Emergency

LEVEL 1: Business as Usual.

LEVEL 2: (2 options available)

1. Renter organization uses and pays for their reserved ice as a club/ per schedule.

2. Club Organization notifies the CUBE of cancellation of ice a minimum of 2 hours in advance of reserved time and offers to their members a pay to skate ($10 per skater), “Free Style/Open Hockey” session as applicable per Clubs scheduled ice time. Club President and/or Scheduler are the only authorized party to adjust ice time on behalf of their organization. CUBE will not refund fees for reserved ice and/or cancellation if notified by another party, parent, coach, or board member. Club Representative is responsible to notify their Club members of Level 2 decisions – either skating scheduled Ice time and /or Pay to Play. Club Representative will also offer on behalf of the CUBE a pay to play freestyle/open hockey session during clubs scheduled ice time. All pay to play skaters will pay $10 for free style/open hockey, including Instructors, Managers and/ or Coaches.

LEVEL 3: The CUBE is officially closed to business; Renters will not be permitted to skate nor will they be charged reserved ice fees.

Drop-In Skate Activities

Adult Hockey

Adult shinny hockey is for adults 18 years and older. Adult shinny hockey sessions are Findlay Recreation’s drop-in hockey times for pick-up, recreational games.  Findlay Recreation will provide the nets and pucks.  The length, time and size of sessions vary throughout the season.  Full equipment including helmet with full face mask is required. 
Cost:  $10.00 per person

Adult Stick & Puck

Adult Stick & Puck is for adults 18 years and older.  This recreational, non-competitive, fun hockey session is ideal for individuals who would like to work on their skills.  The level of play on the ice must be safe for all abilities of participants, including beginners. Findlay Recreation will provide nets and pucks.  Adult stick & puck is offered most weekdays from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Check ice schedule for updates.  Full equipment is recommended, however helmet with full face mask, is required.
Cost: $5 per person or $8 per person with instruction

Family Stick & Puck

For parents and children 14 years and under.  Family stick & puck is for recreational, non-competitive, fun hockey for parents and their children to enjoy the sport of hockey.  The level of play must be safe for all ages and abilities of children and adults including beginners. Participants will use their own sticks and Findlay Recreation will provide the nets and pucks.  The puck must stay on the ice at all times.  Children must wear full hockey equipment and be supervised by an on-ice parent.  Parents are required to wear helmets and full hockey equipment is recommended. 
Cost:  $5 per person or $8 per person with instruction


Freestyle sessions are designed for practice for anyone from the beginning levels through the advanced levels wishing to practice stroking, jumping or spinning.  Skaters may receive private lessons during these sessions, however lessons are not required in order to skate the session.  The length, time and size of sessions vary throughout the season.
Cost:  $10 per person

Skate Sharpening

Skate sharpening service is available at The Cube.  Please allow at least 48 hours for skates to be sharpened.  For special requests, please call 419-424-7176.

Cost:  $7.00

Skate Repair Available by special request.
