Main Street/Cory Street Improvements (PID: 98797) – The City of Findlay, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), is proposing a project to improve pedestrian and bicycle corridors in downtown Findlay. The project is funded, in part, by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Construction of the project is currently scheduled to begin in summer of 2017.
Pedestrian corridor improvements are proposed along Main Street from Lima Street northward to Center Street. The improvements will include sidewalk repair, curb extensions, installation of ADA compliant curb ramps, and mid-block pedestrian crossings. Minor drainage improvements are also proposed at various intersections along Main Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian corridor improvements are proposed along Cory Street from Lima Street northward to Frazer Street. The improvements will include sidewalk repair, installation of ADA compliant curb ramps, establishing a shared lane for vehicular and bicycle traffic northbound along Cory Street, and creation of a designated bicycle lane going southbound along Cory Street. Minor drainage improvements are also proposed at various intersections along Cory Street.
A portion of the construction for this project will take place within the regulated floodplain of the Blanchard River. Impacts to the floodplain are anticipated to be minor and result in no rise in localized flood levels. A Statement of Findings detailing the results of the final floodplain analysis will be made available on the ODOT District 1 Environmental Website:
