Following the issuance of an Ex Parte Civil Protection Order (CPO) filed in Hancock County Common Pleas Court, Mayor Lydia Mihalik has announced that Acting Police Chief Sean D. Young has been placed on paid Administrative Leave until further notice.  The CPO stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred over the weekend.

“We hold the members of our Police Department to a very high standard and take allegations of this nature very seriously, whether it involves an employee or occurs at one of our facilities,” said Mihalik.

As of February 9, 2017, a criminal report has not been filed and Young has not been charged with any crime.

As the senior most Lieutenant, John Dunbar has been named Acting Chief of Police.

“The City of Findlay has taken a course of action consistent with our policies and procedures for an incident of this type,” said Mayor Mihalik.  “I am confident in the abilities of Acting Chief John Dunbar and believe our Law Enforcement Agency will continue to perform in a professional manner.”
