East Sandusky Street work to start on Thursday Morning
Work will begin on East Sandusky Street between Main Street and Beech Avenue on Thursday, September 6. Portions of curb and sidewalk on the north and south sides of East Sandusky Street between Main Street and Beech Avenue will be affected. The contractor will be saw cutting curb and removing curb tomorrow; concrete pours will take place on Friday. This work will be completed by Monday afternoon.
In order to complete the work in such a short time frame, East Sandusky Street between Beech Avenue and South Main Street will be closed to through traffic during working hours. The public will be able to access businesses within this area. Cars heading westbound towards Main Street will be rerouted to East Main Cross Street. The closure of East Sandusky Street will enable two weeks of work to be completed in by Monday.
Bump-out & Sidewalks Pours Continue
The contractor is making good progress pouring new sidewalks within bump-outs on the east side of Main Street. All bump-outs that have been cut out should be poured by the end of next week.
There is still a lot of concrete work to do outside of the bump-out areas on the east side of Main Street. The contractor expects to have all sidewalks on the east side of Main Street completed within the next couple of weeks.
Drainage Work to Continue on the West Side of Main Street
The contractor is going to continue with drainage work on the west side of Main Street. They expect to complete that work by the end of next week.
Landscaping and Irrigation Work to Start
This Friday, the landscaping and irrigation contractor will begin work on their portion of project, so you will notice more construction personnel on site. Most of their work is towards the curb so there should be minimal disruption to pedestrian traffic on sidewalks.
Work to Start on Saturdays
The General Contractor announced that they would begin working on Saturdays to ensure that they stay ahead of schedule.
